I’ve been keeping something huge under wraps...
Plan Inspire Create will be changing its name at the end of October.
I imagine that “What do you mean?!” is probably the first thing coming to mind so let me explain.
When I started Plan Inspire Create back in 2019 it was just a YouTube channel. I had no idea it would turn into a business, let alone the business it is today. The truth is that I struggled to come up with a name for it. Plan Inspire Create was always meant to be the tagline as it summed up the aims of my channel at that time. And when I couldn’t come up with a name, the tagline got promoted!
When I started, everything I did was focused around how I was using my planners for self-care. I still do that, but it’s also expanded into so much more.
It was December 2020 when I made the decision to retire any product lines from my shop that were not inspired by self-care. I had just come off the back of designing 24 products for a self-care stationery advent calendar. While I was pretty sure I didn’t ever want to do another advent calendar, I was sure that I wanted all of my products to have self-care at their heart.
I truly believe this is one of the best decisions I have made. I'd been feeling like I had drifted away from what I set out to do, but now I felt back on track. I have created some of my favourite products since this time. It’s brought me so much joy, and you’ve let me know it’s sparked joy in you too!
So back to the name. The more I focused on self-care and positivity, the feeling that the name isn’t right grew bigger and bigger. It doesn’t give me the warm and happy feels that I want. And don’t even get me started on when I tell people the name of my business and the words ‘Plan-Inspire’ sort of mush together - 9 times out of 10 people just can’t make out what I’ve said! I don't think it's memorable, and I think there could be a name out there that just feels better.
So for a year now I’ve been wracking my brains for a new name. And I just couldn’t get there. I kept coming back to it when I’d have a burst of inspiration, and inevitably if I thought I might have found the one, another business was already using it.
I can almost feel people shouting at me to stop waffling on and just tell you what it is - so here goes. Plan Inspire Create is going to become:
Sunshine Lane
When it came to me I felt this fizzy, buzzing excitement. I kept saying it louder…it’s Sunshine Lane! I must have looked ridiculous, but it gave me that warm, inviting, happy feeling that I want people to feel when they see my products, interact in our community, or watch my content.
It’s not about what my business does, but how it should make you feel. And I just love that.
It will still be me with the same aims as before, just under a new and very happy name.
